Harper is 19 months old

First art project. I think you were a little confused on where to put the paint!

19 Things at 19 Months:

1. You have recently become a BIG sister, and are loving helping mommy and daddy out with your new baby brother Brady
2. You have FINALLY said two words (besides apple juice a few months ago) - you say bye bye juice (but you only say this when we go to bed and you don't have your juice (or milk which is what you call juice).
3. You have become quite the dancer, and love to spin in circles while we sing ring around the posey - and you keep spinning and spinning and spinning and then do a butt bomb. You will continue to spin until we finally say that's enough - you are so dizzy at this time that you fall all over the place
4. You are officially a daddy's girl. Dadda is the first word out of your mouth when you wake up in the morning - you love your daddy and he sure loves you too
5. You have a very cute relationship with your dad that has truly grown over the last few months. Daddy asks you, "Who's pretty?" And you enthusiastically say, "ME!"  Every once in awhile you will say, "Mamma," when daddy asks you that question and it absolutely melts my heart!
6. You are still wearing size 4 diapers, clothes 18mos - 2T and size 5 shoes, weigh 20.8lbs and measure 31" long.
7. You recently went swimming in Alabama at a hotel pool and we realized you have no fear of the water. It's a good thing your dad was around you when you decided to jump into the pool! Swimming lessons are much needed at this time!
8. You are the sweetest mini momma with your baby dolls. You love to push your baby in the stroller, feed him, carry him in the car seat and also have recently started to burp him like mommy.
9. It doesn't matter what time of day it is you always grab your shoes and say, "bye bye!"
10. Up is still up and down to you!
11. When we get ready to leave, you say, "bye bye" and then point to Brady (as if we are going to leave him!)
12. If we are not careful you may be pulling your brother around by his feet when we aren't watching!  You are very strong and have decided multiple times to try and lift Brady by yourself
13. You are still taking classes at My Gym. You love your hour a week of gym time and have become quite the gymnast. You can hang on the monkey bars for about 10-15 seconds without falling off and no one holding onto you. You can also get up on a ground level balance beam all by yourself and take a few steps without help and without falling off.
14. You love swinging in your swing outside and pulling your wagon in the front cul-de-sac
15. For some reason this month you don't like vegetables - not sure why either. Chicken has become something you like this month though. Yea for liking chicken and boo for not eating your veggies.
16. You love mommy and daddy to read books to you and have recently discovered the correct direction a book should go when you are reading.
17. You can point out: duck, boat, apple, stroller, robot, bus, cup, dog, cat, cow, flower, teddy bear, fish and many other items in your "look at me book."
18. You mimic everything that daddy and I do - this is when we need to watch what we say!!
19. Recently while we were taking a car trip to Alabama, Brady was crying as we first left and I looked back to where you were sitting and you put your finger over your mouth and said, "SSHH," and then put your fingers in your ears! It was the cutest thing and daddy and I could not quit laughing! You are so smart!

Harper you make your daddy and I the happiest people on the planet!  We couldn't have asked for anything more! You put smiles on our faces everyday! We love you!

37 Weeks and counting

So today I am finally FULL TERM!!!  I am finally 37 weeks!  This pregnancy has been completely different from when I was pregnant with Harper for a few reasons:

1. The time has flown by
2. I can barely bend over and pick up after Harper - hoping her cleaning up will kick in gear any day!
3. All I crave is fast food and cherry coke - ugh oh
4. I was 50% effaced and 1.5 centimeters dilated at my 36 week appt. - I was never dilated with Harper
5. I started having contractions around week 25 (which they say is normal).
6. I actually think I'm carrying baby boy the same as I was with Harper - if you look back at my 2009 posts
7. This baby MOVES alot more than Harper did
8. I think I need to sit down and relax and enjoy the movement of our baby inside my stomach, since this may be the last baby we have.

Things I'm wondering:
1. What color eyes he will have
2. Will he have hair or be bald like Harper
3. Will I remember what to do with a newborn
4. Will he sleep as well as Harper did when she was a newborn
5. Will feeding him come as easy as it did with Harper
6. Will Harper understand who this baby is and that he will permanently stay
7. How Harper will act once she doesn't have mommy and daddy's 100% attention
8. Since everyone says Harper looks so much like Danny, will the little guy look like me at all?

37 weeks

I didn't mean to dress us in the same colors!

Harper is 17 months old

What is this white stuff mom? I'm used to dirt! (Destin, FL. March 2011)

17 things at 17 months
1.  You are talking a lot more - you say please (peas), up, down, that (and points to what you want), hockey, Addie (your friend's name is Addison) and much much more
2. You are running everywhere and rarely fall
3.  You still love to play in the dirt - and pretty much eat it if it's soft
4. You love to go outside - constantly saying outside (what we understand) and cry when we bring you inside no matter what time of day it is
5. You are becoming a better eater, but we do have battles at least once a day
6. You give kisses on the lips and say bye bye when we lay you in your bed
7. You give hugs  by putting your head on our shoulders and sometimes wrap your arms around us
8. We started doing time outs - sometimes they are successful and other times it's a fight
9.  You get frustrated when you can't figure out how to do something or your feet/hands get stuck somewhere you don't want them
10. You love jumping on your trampoline and your bed
11. You have recently started using chalk to color on the sidewalk, but you still love to eat it (not sure why it's tastes so good to you)
12. You are wearing 18 month clothes and some 2T
13. You love taking baths and showers. You know that after dinner we go directly to the tub and you can't wait. You lift your arms for me to take off your clothes, and then try to take your diaper off all by yourself - it hasn't worked so far so we are lucky
14. You are still taking two naps a day (sometimes 2 hours each).
15. You love your daddy, and whenever he walks in the door you laugh and run away from him to chase you
16. You think your belly is called baby (whoops - our fault)
17. You are an absolute joy to be around and I can't wait for you to be a big sister next month! You are the light of our lives and put smiles on our faces daily!

Harper at 16 months

Harper on her first Spring Break trip to Destin, FL.
What Harper is doing at 16 months:
1. Beginning to show her stubbornness at home (if we are playing outside she screams when we come inside). Good thing in our mind b/c she likes the outdoors so much
2. Beginning to throw temper tantrums. Jumps up in the air lands on her butt and throws her head backwards. It's actually very humorous to Danny and I.
3. Saying alot of words (yes, nodding her head; no, shaking her head (favorite word right now), push (pushing her baby buggy around the house), go, uh-oh, trees, brrr (which means bird), dog, ball, hat, shoe and eyes (she points to everyone's eyes including the dogs).
4. We have been singing "itsy bitsy spider" for awhile now and she does the hand motions, but our biggest accomplishment this week has been the "heads, shoulders, knees and toes"; she finally now starts at her head, then goes to somewhat of her shoulders, and bends down to her knees and finally touches her toes! Practice makes perfect!
5. She loves giving kisses (open mouthed of course) to mommy and daddy each day.
6. She wakes up saying dada and fish every single morning!
7. She has started to run everywhere
8. She has just started to like deli meat, it's not an everyday occurence; but we are coming around the bend with protein items.
9.  Danny still gets her to laugh the most, and everything he does to make her laugh only he can do. She loves it when he bounces her on the bed or drags her around on a blanket on the floor - she always says "more, more" in sign language.
10. Everything is a trampoline to her - and she loves bouncing....even if it's on the hardwood floors.
11. She is wearing 18 month clothes - some 2T dresses.
12. Harper loves pushing anything around the house and says push push - when we go outside she wants to push her wagon, stroller, or cozy coupe.....really anything that she can push.
13. Harper and I went to Destin for her first Spring Break last week - and we had an absolute blast.
14. She is a little fish and has absolutely no fear of the water. She would walk down the steps and basically jump in going under the water, as I would grab her she would smile and look at me like that was fun!
15. She loved the sand and wanted to crawl around in it the entire time.
16. The ocean was a tad chilly, but she loved it when I was holding her and waves came in she would say OHHHHH.....and laugh!
17. If I tried to put her down in the water she would say all done, and then motion to play in the sand again - then when she looked out at the ocean again she would say more more more...
18. Finally the last day she stuck her feet in the water and actually liked the waves. We are planning on taking a family vacation in September so she'll be a little more older to enjoy the ocean - hopefully the water is warmer this time around.
19. We bought Harper big girl furniture, but won't be moving her to her new room until July or August.
20. She loves books right now and wants to be read to all the time.
21. She has started to color, but still tries to eat the crayons.
22. She has been pointing out animals and items in the books we read to her everyday. Recently she pointed out monkey, duck, ball and baby.
23. She's using her utensils more and constantly wants to drink out of a big girl cup - which has proven very interesting for us. We have learned to fill her cup up very little so she doesn't spill everything all over the place.
24. She loves Katy and Derby. She crawls all over Katy and is constantly pointing at her eyes - we aren't really sure if Katy likes this or not :)

We can't believe that Harper is already 16 months old - where did the time go? She is truly becoming a little girl (still a baby) but a little girl. We love each month with Harper - she is the apple of our eye!!

Harper is 15 months

WOW! I can't believe our little baby girl is already 15 months old - where has time gone?
Harper at 15 months:
Words: Baby, Bubble, Apple, Apple Juice, Ball, Hot, Cup, Boom, Dada, Mama, Dog, Fish cheese, shoes and Tree. I can't think of any other words she says right now
Animal noises: Dog, Cow, Sheep, Gorilla, Monkey and Horse (daddy is working on this one)
Clothes: still wearing 12 months; but slowly being able to fit into her 18 month clothes - although they are pretty much all summer clothes, we are working to still fit our little belly into the 12 month long sleeve shirts.
Pointing at things: Head, Ears, Eyes, Mouth, Nose, Toes, Belly and Baby (on mommy)
Sleeping: You sleep completely through the night, with the exception of a few nights a month - we think you have started having bad dreams as you are inconsolable for about 30 minutes when we think this is happening. Nothing calms you down and we aren't sure what else to do but cuddle with you
Eating: you are a pretty good eater if it's any kind of fruit or vegetables. You love pancakes, french toast, bacon, eggs with cheese, cheese in general, peanut butter, yogurt, snack pack, fish, animal crackers, chic fil-a nuggets, just started to eat pizza and sometimes we can get you to eat beef. You have become a little pickier than normal, but nothing we can't handle. You definitely don't like to sit in your booster seat, you are a roaming eater!
Other things you love: playing outside. If I tell you we are going outside you go to the coat closet and point at the door (to get your jacket), after we play outside and we come in, you pitch a royal fit. There could be worse things happening, I'm glad you like to be outside - your dad and I do too!  You get a bath every night after dinner b/c you make such a mess, we say do you want to take a bath, and you go straight to the bathroom and somehow you have managed to turn on the water (the hot) which is not good, but we are right there. You have recently begun to try and take your shirt off on your own - you are becoming such a big girl!  You love drinking smoothies with mommy and daddy before you go to bed too - again the fruit has come into play! I'm thinking you like fruit so much, b/c that's all I craved when I was pregnant with you! You love the itsy bitsy spider song and do some of the motions, if you're happy and you know it, and Head, shoulders, knees and toes - you really only point to your head but we think it's funny.  You love being chased around the house and jumping on the bed. You prefer to be holding a spoon/fork when you eat and 99% of the time you try and use that utensil to eat with. You have become very successful with eating with a fork, but not so much with a spoon. You love watching the "fish" on youtube and ask for "ish" several times a day. We have limited your computer watching for fear you have become addicted at 14 months - HA HA!!
Things you don't like: When mommy or daddy is cooking in the kitchen and they are not paying attention to you. When we tell you no. If you don't want something you will shake your head "NO" and push the fork/spoon towards us . When we tell you no, you sit on the floor and throw your head between your legs and begin to pout. It's very cute, but you have managed to pull out some tears on certain occasions.
We love every moment with you Harper - we can't wait to see what you will be doing next month!
This was taken after playing in the snow with Daddy!
This is what you do when I say "Cheese."

27 Weeks

27 Weeks

I'm 27 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 27 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby K is the size of a Head of Cauliflower (14 1/2")
Clothes: Wearing regular jeans, some maternity jeans and maternity shirts
Gender: It's a Boy! Still no name picked out - this is a tough one!
Movement: Baby K #2 has been kicking a lot more often this week
Sleep: Sleeping on my side is the most comfortable
What I miss: Being able to bend down to tie my shoes without feeling like I just ran 3 miles
Cravings: Nothing currently, but I did buy some Reese's heart shaped pieces for Harper's Valentine's day party - and they stare me in the eyes every morning. Of course I eat them :)
Symptoms: Walking up stairs is exhausting right now and sitting on the floor to play with Harper, especially getting back up has been a little difficult lately
Best Moment this week: Hearing Harper say "baby" and pointing to my belly
Danny's Best Moment this week: Getting to play in the snow with Harper (nothing to do with Baby K #2)

Harper has really started to notice my belly this last week or so, saying "baby" and lifting up my shirt. We aren't sure if she thinks my belly is a baby or not, but she does point to an actual "baby" in a book when we ask her where the baby is. Hopefully we aren't confusing her.  She likes to lift up my shirt and give the baby kisses too - which in our terms is a zupert - see video below!
Can't believe we only have 3 more months until the next baby will be arriving!!

Enjoy your weekend!

26 Weeks

I'm 26 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 26 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby K is the size of an English Hot Cucumber (14")
Clothes: I have recently been able to fit back in my regular jeans with the help of a rubber band - NO I did not lose weight; I'm just carrying Baby K #2 a little low
Gender: It's a Boy! Currently working on names - it's getting harder by the day
Movement: This little boy kicks ALL THE TIME; especially at night
Sleep: I'm sleeping fine just getting up a few times a night to use the restroom
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach, beer and sushi. But I don't follow the rules as strictly as I did with Harper
Cravings: Food in general, but currently Root Beer
Symptoms:It's getting harder and harder each day to bend over and tie my shoes, picking up Harper is getting more difficult and unfortunately my stomach gets in the way when I wash my face
Best Moment this week: Finding out I passed my glucose test YEA
Danny's Best Moment this week: Finding out the little boy's balls are slowly descending (HAHA)

Harper has been very much a Mommy's girl this week as you can see in the picture!! We went out to lunch today and she was a little wild - like not wanting to sit and eat, but walk around the restaurant. We don't allow her to walk around the restaurant so we try and fight the little battles we have while eating. I decided after this lunch that I will not be able to go out to lunch alone with two kids. I can definitely hold Harper on my own, but TWO....probably not!!
